The Production Unit of the Engineering and Operations Division (EOD) of Kabacan Water District (KWD) has embarked on a monthly water distribution main pipe cleaning initiative, targeting at least 3 kilometers of distribution pipeline every 4th week of the month. This proactive measure aims to maintain and enhance the water quality across identified areas of the district.
Top of FormThe primary purpose of this activity is to maintain the high standard of water quality throughout the district distribution line by preventing the build-up of sediments and biofilms within the pipelines. This ensures that KWD’s valued customers receive clean and safe water, free from contaminants that could pose health risks.
As of May 31, 2024, the Production Unit has successfully cleaned a total of 16 kilometers of pipelines in various barangays particularly Brgy. Malamote, Brgy. Dagupan (Purok Krislam, Purok Maniabianom, Purok Saranay, Purok Maligaya), Brgy. Osias (Purok 6), Brgy. Upper Paatan, and Brgy. Poblacion.
The objectives of this initiative are clear: to sustain the delivery of a reliable supply of safe drinking water, enhance the operational efficiency of the water distribution system, and safeguard public health. Regular maintenance of the water mains helps prevent issues such as pipe blockages and corrosion, which can affect water flow and quality.
