The GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) of the Wao Water District (WWD) visited the Kabacan Water District (KWD) on June 19, 2024, to benchmark KWD’s GAD mechanism, program, and best practices.
The General Manager of WWD, Engr. Tomas C. Carumba, Jr., requested to benchmark at KWD to seek technical assistance and guidance in formulating a GAD plan and budget, including policies and other relevant information on GAD. As mentioned in their request, they have chosen KWD as a reference as they have learned that KWD has already established its GAD mechanism.
KWD, during a short program with the WWD Team, showcased its best practices on service delivery and other sustainable programs. The KWD team has also learned some practices (worth emulating) from the visiting water district.
WWD is now the fourth water district to benchmark KWD, with Kapatagan Water District (2022), GenSan Water District (2023), and Oroquieta City Water District (2024).
Benchmarking can be a great way to identify the areas for improvement in an industry or organization, and by knowing, observing, and applying other organizations’ best practices (on identified plans and programs) to your own, it will result in a reliable and stress-free program.
The WWD group said they are “blessed to have conducted their benchmarking here at KWD.” Again, KWD is honored and grateful for their visit – another humbling experience to be a reference by other water districts, especially on a program that once boggled the minds of the KWD GFPS.
